Our playgroup welcomes Mums, Dads and carers of pre-school children from 0 to 5 years old. We provide a fun, informal and safe place for children to play and socialise, as well as an invaluable meeting place for parents and carers. We have wheelchair access and baby changing facilities.
We meet every Monday during term time from 9.30am to 11.30am in the Church centre and ask for a £1.50 donation per family. The children can play with a wonderful range of sensory toys, many of which have been kindly donated to the group over the years. At mid-morning we offer a healthy snack for the little ones and tea, coffee and biscuits for the adults, courtesy of our stoic refreshment ladies. We wind down each session with stories and song-time, led monthly by our talented vicar. On occasion local mums attend the group to display and sell their handmade cards and gifts, and once a term we also have visits from Phoenix cards and Usborne books. Lorraine Neville, a professional children’s photographer, also visits the group twice a year.
Fundraising is an integral part of our playgroup. Our well-attended summer party helped us to raise funds for the RUH Forever Friends Appeal.
We are always delighted to welcome new members. If you would like some more information please contact Gabriela Longhurst at the parish office on 01225 420946 or simply come along on a Monday morning and join in.
