Sat In The Park

Sat in the Park A Musical Fundraising Concert

A sunny Saturday afternoon in the park has just got even better thanks to newly established company, Theatre Bath, who are co-producing a fundraising concert at the Royal Victoria Park, Bandstand on Saturday 14th July.

The concert is a celebration of local artists with the majority of the line up hailing from Bath and the surrounding areas; though there will also be guest performances from some West End Performers! Music varies from 50’s to folk from classical to contemporary. Refreshments and seating will be available.

‘Sat in the Park’ has been organised to raise money for young Bath based performer, Jessica Lucy, who has just been accepted onto a 3 year Musical Theatre course at CPA Studios in London. She is now trying to achieve this dream by raising the £9,000 a year tuition fees needed and hopes ‘Sat in the Park.’ will help start that ball rolling.

Performers already confirmed include West end performer Stephanie Reeves, who originally comes from Glastonbury, Bath Spa Training Band - a fantastic brass brand all of whom are local members and Sarah-Jane Aldington, a young Melksham folk singer who is releasing an album on Sat 7 July. Many more acts are soon to be confirmed!

We are welcoming families and children and will have fully CRB checked face painters on site to offer face painting for free/donations.

The concert is being co-produced by Theatre Bath. Theatre Bath started life as a Twitter account in November 2011 – re-tweeting messages to just under 100 followers, all related to theatre in the Bath area. It has since gone from strength to strength with just under 1000 followers and hosts monthly meetings (or Tweet-Ups) where anyone with an interest in theatre can come along and meet, network and talk to other people who have a similar interest. These events have been well attended and have already helped local companies book shows through local venues. Theatre Bath is committed to remaining independent of any venue or organisation and will help promote any company, theatre, individual, group or show within the Bath area for free.

Luke Emmett who started and runs Theatre Bath, said “We are thrilled to be involved in such an exciting event. We have so much talent in the local area and this is a wonderful opportunity to support and enjoy them.”

‘Sat in the Park’ is at the Royal Victoria Park Bandstand. 3pm - 6pm on Saturday 14 July. Box office opens at the venue at 2pm. To reserve your tickets and a chair email info@theatrebath.co.uk.
