King Edward’s Pre-Prep and Nursery School have big plans to celebrate children’s literature during the Autumn Term with an Early Year’s Festival of Children’s Literature.
On Thursday 13th September children will be celebrating Roald Dahl Day. Roald Dahl Day marks the birth date of one of the most popular children’s authors, a day that is celebrated by children all over the country.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s book The BFG, and to celebrate the theme for this year is BIG Dreams. Children at King Edward’s Pre-Prep and Nursery School will be dressing up as a character from their favourite Roald Dahl book and entering their ideas into the BIG Dream competition. Children will also be fundraising for Clic Sargent, the charity who provide support and information for children, young people and their families with cancer.
On Monday 1st October Kim Donovan, author of St Viper’s School for Super Villains, will be running a series of workshops on writing as well as reading to the children from some of her favourite children’s books.
There will also be a Book Fair from Tuesday 2nd October to Tuesday 9th October.
King Edward’s Pre-Prep and Nursery would be delighted to welcome other local children’s authors and illustrators to take part in their Early Year’s Festival of Children’s Literature. Please contact the School on 01225 421681 for more details.
