The Paragon School are delighted to report that Lola R, aged 8, is a prize winner in the Black Swan Young Open Competition in the 8-11 years category. The Year Four pupil won with her Hockney Landscape painting. Congratulations Lola.
Kit, 4H and Maya, 5G were also highly commended for their entries. Kit's piece was a painting entitled Spring Outside and Maya's was ceramic entitled Sir Zac.
The competition organisers reported that the response to the call for young artists aged between 8 and 19 from Somerset was overwhelming. Their commitment and enthusiasm was matched only by the quality of work, which has been most impressive.
All the entrants (over 200) are featured in the exhibition in Frome which finishes Saturday 9 March. Black Swan Arts is a popular arts centre in the heart of the vibrant and creative market town of Frome, Somerset. The centre contains galleries, shops, cafe, and the Roundtower where artist-led workshops and community events take place. We aim to provide inspiration for the creative talents of Frome and its surroundings. To find out more about the exhibition click here.
