Have your say! Help shape the future of Bath's new soft play centre

Thursday, 8th March 2012 - comments (16) Comment

A local Bath resident, father and regular user of Bath Mums is working on a project to open Bath’s first custom built soft play centre.

The concept is a simple one: to provide a high quality, safe and stimulating environment for young children to play whilst also offering a warm and welcoming venue for parents to meet and socialise.

Whilst we hope you’d agree parents and children of Bath would welcome having the option of visiting their own local play centre, Bath Mums users have been given the exclusive opportunity to add their input at an early stage.

All you have to do is take 5 minutes to complete a brief, 10 question online questionnaire that will help ensure your opinions are taken into consideration in the design and build.

Your input counts please click here to take part in the survey.

Thank you!

About time.
I don't drive and find it hard to entertain my toddler in Bath, will definately welcome a (hopefully) bigger soft play area Smile

Great! About time too. Just for reference. I visited this place in Newcastle recently and thought they had it absolutely spot on!

Yes at last! We desperately need a decent soft play in Bath. There is a great one in bristol but its a pain to have to travel to it. Somewhere like these places would be good www.playspace.co.uk or www.jungleadventure.co.uk. My criteria are easy parking, good proper coffee, decent healthy food, good light and separate areas for different ages.
Hope it happens!

Great idea, and agree with comment above on the essentials of a good one!

Think Bath is desperate for a good soft play. One with decent coffee for the adults and heathly food?snacks for the little ones, I certainly would be there every week! Please could you let me know when this is going to be built?!

Fantastic! For the amount of small children in Bath, I am surprised someone hasn't approached this before. Let us know when the project starts! x

Can't wait, this is definitely needed! Lots of seating with clear visibility so you can watch kids while enjoying a coffee is a must! My Nct group would love somewhere like this to meet up every week.

I agree with the comment above. Also some chairs for babies would be good.

Brilliant idea - somewhere like Go Bananas (Writhlington) where you can have a nice coffee and cake whilst watching the kids would be amazing!

As a local mum of 3 and business woman, I too have been developing my own project to open a soft play centre in Bath for the last 18 months so i find all the comments very encouraging, thank you. Bath has been lacking this type of facility for families, to both residents and visitors, for a number of years so who knows, a soft play centre on a larger scale to the one on offer at the sports centre, could now be like buses, wait for one and then 3 arrive all at once!!

sounds great, roughly when can we expect either of these play centres to open?

Just back from another trip to Newcastle and visited another two such places. Can't tell you how nice it was to be able to sit and enjoy a cuppa while little one is allowed to race around. Has never been doable in Bath to date. Can't wait for the arrival of Bath softplay!

Any news on these projects? Now it's coming up winter, I desperately need options to keep my lively little one entertained! Smile
