Lydia Shephard, aged 13, who is a member of the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra will be playing for the Queen as part of Wiltshire’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Salisbury Cathedral on Tuesday 1st May.
It has been published by the Palace that both the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are expected to visit Salisbury on 1st May.
Salisbury Area Board chairman, Richard Clewer, said: ”We are very honoured Her Majesty is set to visit Salisbury and we are looking forward to showcasing the rich history of our city and county.”

The Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra have been selected to be part of the celebrations during her Majesty’s visit and Lydia has been chosen to play violin.
