Hi Beatriz.
Me and my family moved to Bathampton a little over a year ago. I have 3 children. We have all settled here very well and found the community very inviting. There are a few little groups that tend to stick together but still very pleasant.
The school is fantastic, my 5 year old daughter goes there. They have a very good attitude to the children and embrace the outside space that they have.
Bathampton also has a good private nursery and a really good playgroup.
Yes it is outside of Bath, however it only takes 15 minutes on the bicycle to the centre of Bath and maybe 35 minutes walking distance. The walk along the canal is beautiful.
Bathampton has a very mixed community and embrace the people who live on the boats on the canal.
Hope this is helpful
Thanks! - are there any shops or weekly markets? we'll have to see what happens with the move, but it's definitely an option at the moment...
Hello- we live in Bathwick, the area of Bath closest to Bathampton- we regularly walk along the canal into bathampton as it is such a lovely walk- it usually takes about half an hour- but my little one is younger so she is in the buggy and therefore a quicker walk than if little legs were doing it! We also have to walk right to the centre of the village as that is the best place to get off the canal with a pushchair but there are other points you can get on and off the canal. We love the village- has two great pubs and we love the feel of the place! Good luck with the move!
Thanks sarah - this is maybe more for Mrs Mcdonald, I was wondering if there is a doctor or clinic in bathampton, or would we need to go into bath? (thinking of the children!)
I dont think there is a doctor- a close friend of mine lives in bathampton- she has a one year old and I know they take her to pultney street surgery in Bath- I believe that is your closest one- But Mrs McDonald would probably know better than me! X
There is a doctors and dentists in bathhampton, its the same surgery as the pulteney one.
Thanks everyone for the comments - becca, is that the surgery in holcombe lane? I thought it was only a dentists but if there is also a doctor then perfect
Yes it's a dentists downstairs and upstairs is the doctors. They have the same doctors as the pulteney street one.
